Greg Dicharry

Greg Dicharry started chasing his film career in 1993 when he moved to Hollywood after college. He immediately began a variety of projects including feature films Out Break - starring Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey, Cuba Gooding and Morgan Freeman, as well as Mirage - starring Sean Young and Edward James Almos. He also worked on numerous music videos, commercials and live shows for VH1 and MTV. He later returned home to New Orleans to co-found the video production company Verge Entertainment where he produced and directed numerous film and video projects including the TV pilot "Tribe TV," which received a regional Emmy Award; "Heroin the Real Deal," a prevention film featuring surviving members of the band Sublime; "Go Cat Go," an EPK for music legend Carl Perkins; a 35mm music video for Set Free Hip Hop and numerous other projects. Greg's film career was diverted by mental illness and drug addiction and after finding personal recovery he became committed to helping others do the same. For the last 14 years, he has been serving as the national youth empowerment director for Magellan Health, leading MY LIFE one of the nation's premier youth programs focused on empowering young people with mental health, substance abuse, and foster care challenges, a program he created. This work has given Greg the opportunity to sharpen his producing skills by producing large-scale youth festivals MY Fest, and other community events throughout the country. He has produced 27 MY Fest events nationally that have attracted over 60,000 attendees and reached hundreds of thousands more via social media and news coverage from Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, COX and Comcast TV affiliates, as well as numerous major radio networks. Since 2008 Greg has been combining his passions for film and helping youth and has produced, directed and edited numerous mental health-related PSA's and videos designed to educate and inspire. Most recently he directed and produced the documentary feature My Ascension, which focuses on youth suicide and will air nationally on PBS in May 2022 and is producing an "unplugged" style music documentary called Big Infinite's "Power of Expression". Greg also co-directed and co-produced the award-winning feature-length documentary, Suicide The Ripple Effect which was released in March 2018. Greg is recognized as national leader in mental health recovery and has received numerous national awards in recognition of his work. He was awarded Mental Health America's top honor, the Clifford Beers Award in 2019, a SAMHSA Voice Award and has also received distinguished awards from the National Council for Behavioral Health and National Federation of Families of Children's Mental Health. and most importantly he is the father of an amazing 5 year old daughter named Gracy.
