Nils Elffors

Nils Elffors (1885-1925) was employed as an unit manager at Svenska Bio's studio on Lidingö, and participated in this capacity on several of Mauritz Stiller's films. He also used to play minor roles, especially as a valet. He was very fearless and later became known within the company as a skilled pyrotechnic. As such, he arranged the bonfire in Vem dömer? (1922), the ship explosion in Eld ombord (1923), the castle fire in Karl XII (1925) and above all the Ekeby fire in Gösta Berlings saga (1924. When the film Ödets man (1924) was to be supplemented the following year with a feature intended for foreign countries, where a house flies into the air, he perished in the violent explosion.
