Alex English

Alexander English was born in Columbia, South Carolina, on January 5, 1954. He attended the University of South Carolina on a basketball scholarship and graduated after four successful years. Drafted in the 2nd round by the NBA Milwaukee Bucks, he moved after three years to the Denver Nuggets where his career flourished. Alex led the league in scoring in 1983 and was the most prolific scorer for the decade of the 1980s. While the league stars such as Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing and Michael Jordan were becoming national celebrities, Alex chose to keep a low profile in a small market. He finished his career as the 7th highest scoring player in league history. Named 8 times to the NBA All-Star team, he completed his career with a 21.5 point average after playing in 1,193 games. He is employed by the NBA Players Association, and occasionally makes a movie.
