Rickey Carter

Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Rickey Carter was born to Cathy Carter, November 9, 1981. As Rickey grew older, the neighborhood once called home had changed. And in the best interest of her son, Ms. Carter moved to North Dallas hoping to give him a chance at a better life. The new environment worked well for young Rickey. As he progressed early on, he discovered a love for acting and landed his first job on the famed Barney & Friends as one of the memorable original cast members 'Derek'; a personal triumph for Rickey as the only black actor on the show.
