Jennifer Champagne is a multi-award winning filmmaker with 20 years of experience in digital effects, film production and writing. Jennifer owns Milake Pictures, a film production company and was recently nominated for a 2015 Regional Emmy Award. She was also co-owner of Max Ink Productions and the multi-Emmy Award Winning animation and VFX house Max Ink Cafe with Emmy Award Winning VFX Supervisor Todd Sheridan Perry. Jennifer's film experience ranges from Visual Effects (Jeepers Creepers (2001), NCIS (2003), The X-Files (1993)) to Live Action (Border (2007), The Anatomy of a Great Deception (2014)). Her Multi-Award Winning feature documentary, Border, explores border security and immigration within the United States. She Produced the film and Directed the second unit interviews. An important political film that the New York Times called, "A visual expose..." In addition to producing moving pictures and blowing things up one pixel at a time, as an accomplished features writer and visual effects trade press writer, Champagne has contributed articles on Elmore Leonard with John Travolta and Graham Yost, Michael Imperioli, John Gaeta, John Kricfalusi, Hoyt Yeatman, Yas Takata, Janet Mock, Dream Hampton, Jaime Ray Newman and MoZella (to name a few) for trades such as Millimeter Magazine, Visual Magic, DCC, Digital Media Net (bi-weekly column), Animation Magazine, AWN, Detroit Live Magazine, Interactivity Magazine (monthly column), National Rock Review, National Country Review, Ambassador Magazine. Jennifer recently penned feature articles on and The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun with Greg Nicotero, the latter of which made the cover story for Ambassador Magazine's January Issue. As a former Adjunct Professor at Madonna University, Jennifer taught the fourth year film class. In her first year of teaching - she guided her 2011 students to three Student Emmy Nominations, one 2012 Student Emmy Award and a 2012 Detroit Music Award Nomination, a first in the five year history of the Capstone Film Class. The 2012 class won a 2013 Detroit Music Award and three 2013 Student Emmy Awards out of nine nominations. 2013 won a 2014 Detroit Music Award and a 2014 Student Emmy Awards out of five nominations. These combined classes garnered over 40 awards and nominations. Through Capstone Jennifer has found a passion for education young filmmakers and teaching them the skills necessary to succeed in the film and television industry.
