Marque Chantal is an ex-Police Officer who was obsessed with the film industry and the art of filmmaking. During his time at the Hidalgo County Police Academy, Marque finished #4 in his graduating class and scored # 23 in the history of Texas Police Officer's on the state wide Police Officer's exam. Marque began his career as a Deputy Constable in Hidalgo County Texas. Within one year he rose to the position of Asst. Chief Deputy Constable. After two years with the Constable Department, Marque was recruited by the Pharr City Police Department. Marque worked seven months as a patrolman then tested for detective. Marque scored highest of all those that tested and was promoted to the Pharr Police department C.I.D. Division. He was also a member of the departments volunteer S.W.A.T. Team and had advanced Anti Terrorist Tactical Training. In 1985 Marque took an option for early retirement from the police department and moved to California to begin a career in the film industry. Marque started working as a make-up artist and hair stylist. He worked for Rick Baker, the first make-up artist to ever win an academy award. He worked for Tony Gardner, Gabe Bartolis and others creating special effects makeup for big budget and low budget film and television projects. Marque went from doing make-up FX to building miniatures for studio films. During his time as an FX artist he was often asked to build miniatures and create special FX for lower budget films. Part of his deal doing low budget projects would include being allowed to work as a producer and second unit director. After several films as a producer and second unit director, it was a natural progression for Marque to begin producing & directing his own projects. Marque has successfully written, produced and directed two of his own screenplays and produced and directed another screenplay written by someone else. Two of his films have been distributed at the three major film markets and have been aired on pay cable. The third is scheduled to be released soon. Besides the scripts he's written, Marque has produced four other feature film projects as well as producing and directing 12 music videos, 4 commercials, and five television projects. Marque has three completed screenplays available for production, two action adventure & one psychological thriller, as well as three episodes of a 1/2 hour "shock" comedy show. Because of Marque's experience as a police officer, his attention to detail and character development is refreshing. He has a very quick wit and a sarcastic sense of humor which is reflected in his work. His scripts are a combination of intense action, compelling drama, and sarcastic humor. For 2 & 1/2 years Marque acted as the supervising producer and C.E.O. for an independent film and music studio located in Palmdale Ca. (1997-1999). The studio was sold to developers in 1999. In November of 1999 until January 2001 Marque worked as supervising producer and C.E.O. for The Stogie Group, an independent film and music studio in San Diego Ca. Marque has supervised as many as seventy plus employees during his time as studio C.E.O. and has been responsible for the production and completion of features, television projects, music video's, and music production. Marque is also a published poet and worked as the writer of a regular column for Garage Band Magazine.
