Chris performed with his family, the King Family, on their TV shows/specials as well as in concert and recordings. He is the only son of the late record producer, James B. Conkling and Donna King, one of the famed singing "King Sisters". Chris has 4 sisters: Candy Conkling, Jamie Conkling, Xandra Conkling, and Laurette Conkling. He is also cousin to Tina Cole, who played "Katie" on My Three Sons (1960).
