Marc Conklin

Marc Conklin grew up in South Bend, Indiana, where his father headed the public relations department at the University of Notre Dame. Shortly after graduating from Notre Dame, he landed his first production assistant job on the feature "Rudy," (1992) starring Sean Astin, where meeting scribe Angelo Pizzo (and driving a young actor named Jon Favreau) planted a future career seed. While living in Minneapolis and working as an ad agency copywriter and creative director, he taught himself screenwriting and began writing spec features. After his spec "Deadbeat Boyfriends" won the PAGE International Screenwriting competition's gold prize for comedy (2007) and was a semifinalist in the Nicholl Fellowship, he was tapped to write the indie feature "Memorial Day" (2012) and his script helped land Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell. The film has since received numerous film festival awards and has secured international distribution. His newest spec, "Twin Cities," is was named a top 20 finalist in Script Pipeline competition in 2012.
