He studied acting in the class of Boyan Danovski in National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria, He graduated in 1971. Veljo Goranov participated in famous Bulgarian feature films like "And the Day Came " (1973 ), directed by Georgi Djulgerov, "Advantage " (1977 ), directed also by Georgi Djulgerov, " Every Day, Every Night " (1978), directed by Vladislav Ikonomov, "Mustard Seed" (1980), directed by Sergey Gyaurov, "24 hours Rain" (1982), directed by Vladislav Ikonomov as well as the serial film "Filyo and Makenzen" ( 1979), directed by Vladislav Ikonomov and Dimitar Petrov. Veljo Goranov is one of the founders of the studio "Pantomime "in 1976, along with Milcho Milchev . In the late 80th he based theater "Movement " becoming also its manager. The theater was closed in 1994. He exports its shows, including "A mime tells", "Svejk" and "Don Giovanni".
