Ivan Gulas is founder and CEO of MirageQuest Media (MQM) and SWIG Media, both headquartered in Los Angeles. He is also an Executive Producer and Producer of film and TV projects and has pioneered cutting-edge media production technologies and IPTV ventures for nearly two decades. He has been repeatedly cited as an innovator in entertainment industry publications, and WIRED naming him as one of the '25 players who are reinventing entertainment in Hollywood'. Prior to transitioning his career to entertainment, Gulas was in health care in Boston for over 15 years, and on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. He attended graduate school at Dartmouth College and Ohio University, and completed his Internship at Beth Isreal Hospital / Harvard Med. He is a published author of professional Psychology Journals and an author of book. He was also the recipient of the prestigious "Humanitarian of The Year" Award from the Emmanuel Foundation. In 1997,Mirage Technologies, a Company he co-founded in Boston, purchased Pacific Title & Art Studio, in equal partnership with Safeguard Scientifics (NASDAQ listed VC funds). Gulas assumed the initial day-to-day leadership role and served as Co-Chairman and Co-President at the Company which was renamed Pacific Title/Mirage. During his tenure at PT/M, Gulas spearheaded the company's massive expansion into major digital visual effects projects, large format, and digital restoration. He also located, helped design and oversaw PT/M's new 75,000 square foot facility and extended the company into production by including one of the first virtual production stages in Hollywood, as well as a motion capture stage. He was granted a US Patent in 2000 for technologies which became the cornerstone of the Company's leading-edge facial animation technology, known as LifeFX. LifeFX Division of PTM was spun out to become a NASDAQ listed Company in 2000. PT/M's projects prior to Gulas selling his interest in the Company included participation on some of the highest-profile visual effects-driven films such as: Titanic, Deep Impact, Dr. Dolittle 2, Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000, Virus, Spider, as well as several notable TV projects, including Tom Hanks' From The Earth To The Moon, which garnered an Emmy nomination for PT/M. PT/M's noteworthy restoration projects included Star Wars Trilogy and the complete digital restoration for re-release by Warner Bros of the The Wizard of Oz. Gulas has been an Executive Producer, Producer & Director on a series of live-to-air and Pay-Per-View shows, including five MMA & World Pro Fighting Championships from the Toyota Center in Houston and The Orleans arena in Las Vegas. He also helmed the production and broadcast of live concert broadcasts from venues in Las Vegas and has been attached as an Executive Producer and Producer on several Film and TV projects. He had also severed as CEO of Vegas TV Channel and President of B2 Networks, On the new media distribution side, in 2012 SWIG Global Digital Entertainment Network launched a global digital network, which became available as a free download on iTunes, Google Play, and on Amazon (Kindle Fire). SWIG reached more than 250 countries, on over 100 wireless carriers, on more than 250 types of devices. In 2017, Swig launched its' end-to-end solution for creating, programming, streaming and monetizing 24/7 linear channels, which grew to originate nearly 20 special interest channels, streaming to al screens globally, including Cable/Satellite/OTT. The Company's live event streaming division launched such brands as KarateKombat, and streamed events live from Trinidad, India, and Greece. Gulas also remains active as an Executive Producer and Producer of films, and TV and Streaming projects.
