María Luisa Gutiérrez, (Yunquera de Henares, Guadalajara, 1973) is one of the most influential Spanish producers. Founder and CEO of Bowfinger International Pictures, focused on Spanish production and co-production market, on the last years she has been behind of some of the most successful Spanish films such as the "Torrente" saga; "Padre no hay más que uno"; "Padre no hay más que uno 2"; "A todo tren. Destino Asturias" and recently "Padre no hay más que uno 3" , considered the highest grossing Spanish films between 2019-2022. She also chairs the State Association of Film Spanish Producers (AECine), belongs to the Board of Directors of the Spanish Arts and Cinematographic Sciences Academy, and combines her work as producer and executive producer, with teaching on several educational institutions like ECAM or the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Graduated on Business Sciences at the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, (PDG-C in 2007 from IESE Business School), Mª Luisa Gutiérrez began her career as controller in films like "Isla Negra", "Airbag", ¡A por el oro! or "El impostor". After a long business career, in 2003 she decided to found her own production company, Bowfinger International Pictures, with her partner Santiago Segura, producing a wide catalog of productions with more than 35 films. Based in Madrid and the Basque Country, the new production company headed by Gutiérrez, has increased its market producing own films like "Sin Rodeos", "Ola de Crímenes" or "Qué te juegas", and also expanding his alliances with some of the principal TV network plattforms and distributors such as A3Cinema, Mediaset, Movistar or Latido, among others. In addition, Bowfinger International Pictures has increased their international expansion through LATAM & USA including producing and coproducing films of prestigious directors as Gabriel Nesci ("Casi leyendas"); Federico Cueva (¨Solo se vive una vez); Martín Hodara ( "Nieve Negra") , Gustavo Hernández ("No dormirás"), or the Oscar-winning director Armando Bo ("Animal"), among others. Recently Mª Luisa Gutiérrez has been also coproducing new films as "La casa del caracol" or "El Refugio", both directed by Macarena Astorga and top 1on their launch on Amazon Prime Video; "Llegaron de noche", by Imanol Uribe; "Sin ti no puedo" by Chus Gutiérrez or "Mamá no enRedes" by Daniela Fejerman. Considered one of the most influential women on the Spanish film market by magazines like Vanity Fair or Forbes, Mª Luisa Gutiérrez has also been awarded as Woman of the Year with a Silver Fotogramas Award; and also with the Comscore Courage Award (CineEurope 2021); with the Cygnus Award for Solidarity&Values Cinema from the University of Alcalá (ACIVAS), and with the 8M Award for her cultural career awarded by the Community of Madrid (2022), among others. Already she's working on new films like "Lobo Feroz", "A todo tren 2" or "Me he hecho viral", that will come to the cinemas soon.
