Ron (Hamill) Nogueira grew up in Somerset Massachusetts. In 1971 Ron attended Wentworth Institute in Boston for engineering for 2 years but gradually felt it wasn't for him. He was spending his off time in New York City walking the halls of NBC at "30 Rock" attending TV tapings and learning as much as he could about TV production. During his after class time at Wentworth he got an intern job at WBZ TV 4 Boston, building and painting sets. He started designing lighting for several area cabaret/theaters in the Boston. He did the lighting for Wayland Flowers and Madame and other contemporary nightclub acts coming up from New York and the West Coast. He was then offered a job at the Charles Playhouse in Boston stage managing and lighting a show called The Madhouse Company of London's Wild Stunt Show and even had a bit part at the top of the show. About the same time Ron did a few commercial voice over jobs in Boston. He moved to Los Angeles in 1975. He began using the name Ron Hamill in 1976 after advice from someone who had worked as an agent at the time, "He (the agent) said pick a name, Ron something, whatever, shorter and easy to spell", Ron said. He chose Ron Hamil to be different than Pete, Dorothy and of course Mark but finally started using Hamill because everyone was spelling it wrong. In 1977 he worked as one of the managers of The Chinese Theatre in Hollywood during almost the entire run of Star Wars. In 1979 and 1980 he worked for the TV show "Real People" as a runner/production associate. He then went back to the nightclub business and got a position as the Tech Director for the Studio One Backlot Theatre. He designed lighting for most of the big name club acts of the time that appeared there. He again did lighting and sound for Wayland and Madame and ended up going on the road with them for several years. In 1988 he started Ron Hamill Productions and produced a show called "Christmas Carolers' Just for You" which aired in the Los Angeles area. He became a freelance videographer and shot a few low budget gay themed movies after answering and ad in a local newspaper. Ron continued shooting many industrial, educational and instructional videos. He also returned to his nightclub roots and video taped many singers and theatrical performances around town. He also did a few more voice over jobs for a few commercials and a series of geography videos. He had always been a fan of the TV show, Lost in Space and hoped some day to tackle building a copy of the Robot from the show. Along the way he met the owner of the original robot suit who at the time worked at a studio. He finished his robot in 1993 and then ended up detailing the original robot and a duplicate robot suit they had built to do public appearances. In the 90's he worked on the specials "The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen" and "Lost in Space Forever". One of the highlights of the whole "robot gig" was when he performed inside the robot suit for a segment of E! Televisions' Talk Soup. He was crouched down inside the robot costume waving the arms with non other than Jonathan Harris (Dr.Smith) standing next to him doing his lines. He has also always been interested in The Titanic and after the film production was wrapped he ended up buying some set pieces and restoring them. Between 2007 and 2012 he managed a small boutique stage/ studio in North Hollywood until the business closed after the sale of the building. In November of 2012 he had a bout with a lung issue that had him in the hospital for about 8 weeks. Now some of his activities are limited but continues to keep as active and creative as possible. He added a voice over studio to his home that he and several friends and clients sometimes use. In 2018 he returned as producer and narrator of the documentary HW 401 A Personal Reflection which is a recollection of events in his life that were Titanic theme related starting in 1962.
