Lisa Halpern

Lisa Halpern is an award-winning writer/director/producer who has been a resident playwright at The Seattle Repertory Theatre. Lisa studied comparative literature at the University of Washington, received her BFA from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, and her screen-writing certificate from The FilmSchool. A two-time Hedgebrook alumni, Lisa has optioned and been hired to write original screenplays and has gotten the attention of Drew Barrymore, GoldCrest Films and Redstroke Entertainment. In 2014 she worked with Marta Kauffman to develop Lisa's award-winning screenplay adaptation of the best-selling novel 'Broken For You'. Lisa was commissioned by Intiman Theatre and her plays have been workshopped across the country.
