Nathan Harvey is a well known media personality in Australia. With a career spanning over 30 years he started out as a successful model appearing in such iconic ads as Decore', Hypercolour, Coca Cola and many others. In the 90's he was a regular in Dolly Magazine and 3 time winner of favourite model in Girlfriend magazine. He also appeared on the first ever all male cover of Australian Cleo magazine and many other high end magazines including a ground breaking shoot with Andreas Smetanas for Heroes, Angels & Devils an annual edition of Australian Blackened White magazine. At the age of 18 he travelled to the Uk and achieved similar success over there! Always up for a challenge and bored with modelling life Nathan created a pilot with old school friends in the early 90's called Happening Places. From this he secured his first television role with Beyond Productions (Beyond 2000) called Level 23. The other people involved in Happening Places have also moved on to bigger and better things including Kirk Baxter- Film Editor (2 time Oscar winner ) Martin Fargher (Grip) and David Hausman (IMAX Cinematographer) Unfortunately for Nathan Level 23 only lasted the initial 13 week broadcast however he soon moved on to Foxtel where he became a regular household name hosting and producing for 24 hr music channel, Channel V. In his time there he was recognized as a very natural presenter, likeable and able to converse on a grass roots level with some of the biggest musicians and celebrities of the time. After the Foxtel days he went on to host and produce Optus Visions flagship lifestyle program called Space in which he presented and produced over 100 stories to air. Unfortunately Optus Vision was then terminated with the sale of Optus to Singtel after which Nathan decided to bow out of the spotlight for a number of years and moved north to the Gold Coast , Australia. After working at Warner Village Theme Parks for 7 years as a SeaWorld show host, FOH mixer and media relations representative. He also started from scratch with the WaterSkiing team to eventually play the lead skier role in SeaWorlds iconic show Waterski Wipeout! After the Gold Coast he embarked on a sailing trip with an old mate around the Bahamas and then sailed halfway across the Atlantic to Bermuda. From there he flew to catch up with old SeaWorld buddies in Muskoka, Canada and was only there a short time before a near fatal Waterskiing accident in which he broke his neck saw him return to Sydney in 2010. After recovering he secured a job with Virgin Australia and was quickly promoted to the role of Aircraft Dispatcher in which he was responsible for the inspection, pushing back, towing and start up procedures of VAs commercial fleet. During this time he picked up a guitar in 2015 which quickly became his passion and started writing songs a year later. To date he has now written over 50 original songs, been signed to Indie label Foghorn Records a division of iconic Damien Gerards studios (INXS, Hoodoo Gurus, Silverchair, Divinyls) have all recorded there and is currently promoting the release of his debut EP "Its Kool To Be Kind" As a result of this success he is involved in 2020 as a principal in the documentary "Unplugged, It's Over" Directed by Petros Ktenas and DOP'd by Casimir Dickson which is based on a Sydney musicians trials and tribulations during the Covid 19 pandemic. The documentary will also feature interviews with major players in the Australian entertainment industry and will be pitched to the major worldwide film festival circuit. Watch this space !
