Mark Belasco started out in the vibrant New York City theater community, studying with the world's most respected acting teachers. He's appeared in over thirty stage productions in New York, as well as directing and producing several more. The last play he produced was North of Providence by award winning playwright Edward Allan Baker and directed by Drama Desk Award winning director Russ Treyz. The show's sold out run, which featured Mark in the starring role, generated outstanding reviews. Fueled by the overwhelmingly positive response he decided to produce a film based on the play, where he chose to reprise his role and adapted the play to a screenplay. Shot on 16mm, the film adaptation of North of Providence became a huge hit on the festival circuit, becoming an official selection in fourteen festivals and winning four awards, including best film, best adaptation and best actor for his role. In 2005 Mark relocated to Los Angeles where he studied under the late Milton Katselas. He continued to act and develop film and television ideas, including the sitcom High Hopes, which became a semi-finalist in the Scriptapalooza TV competition. In 2007 he briefly returned to his old New York stomping grounds to act in and produce the mystery thriller Polycarp, starring Michael Pare and Charles Durning. The film was distributed by Universal's Vivendi. More recently, in 2008 Mark put his years of executive sales experience to great use when he started working as a Producer's Representative. He would then place a total of seventy-eight films for distribution. Mark went onto executive-produce the pilot for the kids show, Cricket and the Little Girl Power, and produced and acted in the much anticipated indie mob thriller Sinatra Club, which told the true story of a 1972 heist that helped establish a young John Gotti as an up and coming mafia leader. Recently Mark signed on with Adler & Associates Entertainment, Inc. as VP of Distribution.
