Studied at U.C. Berkeley, graduated U.C.L.A with a bachelors degree in sociology. Began writing for episodic television ("Laverne & Shirley"), before becoming head publicity writer for 20th Century Fox. He began doing unit publicity 1983 and briefly served as vice president publicity for Gramercy Pictures. He lives in London and Los Angeles. His sons, Casey and Sam, are in the band X Ambassadors, recording for Interscope Records. He is married to writer-publicist Nicola Graydon Harris (The Ancestral Continuum, 2013, Simon & Schuster). He is the author of The Trouble with Love in the Movies, Unexposed Film: A Year on Location and The Hannibal Journal.
