Otmar Hitzelberger

Otmar Hitzelberger is a producer and independent filmmaker from Frankfurt, Germany. He studied Film at the Filmacademy Berlin (dffb, 1980). His production company OPEN LENS was founded in 2001. His filmography includes a wide range of documentaries, social image films and fictional productions, such as "Kranke Männer" (1985, fiction), "Die Allerletzten"(2009, documentary) "So nahe, so fern" (2010, autobiographical documentary), Look4Them (2013, fictional drama). Hitzelberger's novel "Schritt für Schritt ins Paradies" was published in 2003 (Büchergilde Gutenberg). Since 2007 he teaches Filmmaking at the University of Applied Sciences, Darmstadt, since 2005 Acting & Directing at the Filmacting School Cologne, since 2001 "Film in Social Work" at the University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt.
