Carl is an award winning director known for 'Pump Up the Volume', 'Mark Ronson-From the Heart' and 'The 7/7 Bombing'. He started directing in theatre with productions of 'Macbeth' and John McGrath's 'Swings and Roundabouts.' After graduating Leeds University with a first in English, he worked as a journalist before landing a job on cult UK Channel 4 show 'The Word.' He went onto create the award winning history series 'Days That Shook the World', before directing a trio of critically acclaimed historical dramas; 'The Somme', 'The Last Days of the Raj' and 'The Untold Battle of Britain'. He was a finalist on Screen Yorkshire's 2014 'Triangle' development scheme with John Lake's Yorkshire thriller 'Hot Knife'.
