B. Sean Fairburn is the only Marine ever to win a Emmy award for Cinematography of actual Combat, as the Combat Camera Officer and serving as Director/DP, with Delta Co 1st Tanks in Operation Iraqi Freedom-1. CWO2 "Gunner" Fairburn thankful and humbled by the award realizes it was a result of the Grace of God. This was confirmed by Norm Hatch USMC (Ret) Combat Camera officer 1945 Pacific Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Saipan. who led the unit that shot "Marines at Tarawa" which also won the group an academy award for best documentary in 1945. The opportunity came when asked by the commandant to Shoot the war as a Combat Camera Officer in High Def during the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. A veteran of Desert Storm as an LAV (Light Armored Vehicle) Commander and Gunner, Fairburn has seen Ground Combat firsthand in 1991. Born in Ponchatoula, Louisiana where his wife and 5 kids now live, Fairburn spent 23 years in Los Angeles as a Camera Operator and DP. He got pulled into that work in High school and College where he got involved in Drama and starred in numerous Stage plays: Bus Stop, Grease, Butterflies are Free. Given the chance to shoot sports to make extra money Fairburn found his true passion for images and Storytelling. Now a Specialist in Digital Cinematography Fairburn is also writing Screenplays that deal with the Military in a realistic and positive light. The Main motivation for life came after nearly losing it, Fairburn accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior and was born again 3 months after a bad auto accident as a teen.
