.... "a dusty down-to-earthness" .... "an imitable comedic actor" .... "an offbeat everyman" Mark Fite is an American actor and comedian. Originally from the Midwest, Fite graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and Theatre Arts. His parents and most relatives hailed from central Illinois. Feed salesmen, coal miners, farmers, and musicians of English, Scottish, Irish, and German ancestry. Fite is a founding member of the legendary L.A. based comedy group 2 Headed Dog. Known for their absurd characters, offbeat sketches, and loose improvisation, their antics have taken them to New York City, San Francisco, Atlanta, Dallas, and Hawaii. Locally, 2 Headed Dog has enjoyed many venues over the years and have had long standing residencies at Largo, Theatre Theater, and The Steve Allen Theater. They continue to develop new material and produce a variety of unusual and highly entertaining shows such as Sashay Gigante, Clowntown City Limits, and A Brief History of 2HD. "Individually they are brilliant, accomplished actors, as a team 2 Headed Dog is an unstoppable absurdist force." -Jason Weisberger, Boing Boing In 2018, Fite co-created and began a monthly run as Tony Martini in The Tony Martini Variety Hour, a long-running resident hit at the notorious Hollywood hangout Three Clubs. He has performed at many comedy venues and festivals around the country, as well as appearing at local L.A. favorites, Lucha VaVoom, Brookledge Follies, and the Magic Castle. Fite has worked with the most notable theatre companies in Los Angeles, including The Actors' Gang, Theater of NOTE, and The Padua Hills Playwrights' Festival. His numerous TV credits include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, NCIS, Parenthood, Grey's Anatomy, The Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show, Arliss, Tenacious D, Mr. Show, Friends, Seinfeld, NewsRadio, and recurring voices on SpongeBob SquarePants (26 eps), Mighty MagiSwords, Clash-A-Rama, and Infinity Train. Fite has appeared in a number of films, notably a scene- stealing performance opposite Academy Award winner Marion Cotillard in John Cameron Mitchell's short film L.A.dy Dior. Other film credits include Mank, Embattled, The Adventures of Pinocchio, Fight Club, Independence Day, Godzilla, Off The Lip, Happy Endings, The Lost One, and Elephant Sighs. In the 1990s, Fite had a prominent role as "Mark the Trasher" on the MTV game show Trashed on which he destroyed the prized possessions of unlucky contestants. In 2009, Fite performed in Matthew Modine Saves The Alpacas, alongside Matthew Modine, Peri Gilpin, and French Stewart at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles. In 2016, Fite appeared as a curious surfer dude on stage live with the L.A. Philharmonic Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall in La Mer, part of the L.A. Phil Symphonies For Youth Program. Fite has appeared in over 50 national commercials.
