Bernadette Mary Flynn was born on August 1, 1979, the second of Andy and Mary Flynn's five children. She has loved dancing all her life, and is the possessor of six world titles and seven All-Ireland titles. In 1996, she came in first in the World Irish Dancing championships, and joined Michael Flatley and Lord of the Dance shortly thereafter, playing the role of Saorise (Gaelic for "freedom"). The show opened on July 2, 1996 to critical acclaim and commercial success. She has more recently performed in Flatley's 'Feet of Flames,' which opened on July 25, 1998. Miss Flynn remains, along with Gillian Norris, one of Michael Flatley's all-time favorite dancers.
