Stephen is only the only living protege, of legendary animation director Chuck Jones. Fossati was personally mentored by Jones over a nearly ten year association, beginning with Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and culminating with Fossati acting as executive producer, supervising director and co-writer of Jones' final production, the new animated cartoon series Timber Wolf (2001).
