Meg Gallagher was a native of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and was one of 14 children. At age 19, she moved to New York City where she studied acting and did modeling. From 1978-1981, Meg was perhaps best-known for her role as J.R. Ewing's secretary Louella Caraway Lee in the popular TV show "Dallas". After leaving the show, she retired from acting. On May 27, 2000, Ms. Gallagher succumbed to chronic liver disease at age 50, in Santa Monica, California. Prior to her death, she worked as a publicity coordinator for author Laura Corn.
