Lawrence Gay was born in Hollywood, the son of award winning screenwriter John Gay and actor Barbara Meyer. He studied at Rhode Island School of design, and later graduated from California Institute of the Arts where he was mentored by British director, Alexander Mackendrick. Working with companies such as Universal, Paramount, Disney and HBO, Gay's career has spanned episodic television, feature films and non-fiction theatrical releases. In addition to creating, writing and producing numerous network TV shows he has penned several features and directed his first independent theatrical release. He was a contributing writer for hit movies, The Flintstones, Casper and Curious George, and has written for National Geographic giant screen cinema presentations.
