Linton S. Garner

Composer and pianist, the older brother of Erroll Garner, and a pianist in the Fletcher Henderson orchestra. He served in the U.S. military during World War II, then was a pianist and arranger for Billy Eckstine's orchestra, and an arranger for Dizzy Gillespie. From 1947, he was a pianist in small groups, and he joined ASCAP in 1960.
