Tammy Gillis is an award-winning actress and indisputable powerhouse whose talent and creativity has lead to over 60 roles across a variety of acclaimed film and television projects around the world. She won four Best Actress awards for her incredible starring lead performance in the internationally acclaimed feature film, Menorca (2016). Growing up in rural Manitoba, Tammy showed an early interest in her craft and began acting in school plays. She was discovered by a modeling scout while attending the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg and was cast in a series of commercials for Greenkids. Her passion for performing reignited, she began taking theatre classes at the University of Winnipeg and shortly after found herself on the set of Canadian legend Guy Maddin in his inspired award-winning short film, The Heart of the World (2000). Since then, Tammy's acting career has continued to grow with great success. Tammy recently starred in and executive produced the tv movie Riverfront Romance (2021), for which she received her third Leo Award nomination. She recently starred with James Tupper in season 3 of the hit CBC's true crime series The Detectives (2018) in a special two-part episode. She was the determined Deputy Marissa Staub in all three seasons on FreeForm's Siren (2018), nominated in 2018 by the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Breakout Show. You can also catch Tammy in her recurring Guest Star role playing the batchete-wielding Monica in Syfy's Van Helsing (2016). A chameleon of a performer, Tammy's talent covers all genres, including drama, comedy, Sci-Fi, thrillers, romance and more. Her appearances include guest starring and recurring roles on Motive (2013), Supernatural (2005), Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce (2014), Once Upon a Time (2011), the award-winning HBO comedy series Less Than Kind (2008), The Arrangement (2017), Ghost Wars (2017), and many more. Tammy has also been a dynamic and exciting presence on the big screen, celebrating her internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning performance in the indie feature film Menorca (2016). Tammy's portrayal of Claire, a hedonistic soccer mom that goes on a journey of self-discovery to win back her son has won her four Best Actress awards: The UBCP/ACTRA Award, the Black Sea Film Festival in Romania, the Noida International Film Festival in India and the Solaris Film Festival in Nice, France. In addition, Tammy earned a Leo Award nomination for "Best Lead Performance by a Female in a Motion Picture" for her staggering performance. This nomination is her second, her first nomination for "Best Guest Performance by a Female in a Dramatic Series" for her work on UPTV's Ties That Bind (2015). Tammy has shone in additional feature film roles, including No Men Beyond This Point (2015), White Noise 2: The Light (2007), A Dog's Way Home (2019), Torn: Dark Bullets (2020), and more. She will soon be seen in the Hallmark Channel's final season of Chesapeake Shores (2016).
