Born and raised in Chicago, Gina Gian discovered the benefits of acting when fake tears from her water glass after bedtime provided extended rocking from her mother. Being an entertainer herself, Gina's mother was a big influence on her, telling Gina at a young age that a real actress can cry from either side of her eye. (This may have been subversive punishment for using water to fake cry, but the suggestion had a huge effect on Gina, compelling her to master the art of tears throughout her career.) At 9, Gina began attending Harand Camp, a summer camp for the performing arts where she fell in love with Theater, boys, and Gershwin tunes. She continued performing in the theater at the local armory, in school and to paying friends of her parents who were kind enough to sit through an extended performance of Annie. Gina gratefully attended The Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts as a teenager, where she was able to focus on her art and not learn a darn thing required by the state. Two months after graduation, and with 210 dollars in her pocket, Gina moved to California, following in the footsteps of her brother, Joey Gian (famous for Knots Landing). Training extensively with Brian Reise in Los Angeles has helped her land more than 30 commercials and several leads in low budget independent films, one of which garnered her a best actress award in Canada (what's the actual name of the award? What festival?). For extra cash, Gina enjoys performing in campy dinner theatre where she's always screaming, bloody and crying (thanks mom!). Most recently, Gina got to portray a heroin addict and occasionally gets recognized for having had a haunted house. (It's acting folks!) Gina enjoyed playing mom on TV, mom to her identical twins, Clare and Quinn and being the stage mom she never had. They have more money than her. Wait, what?! Grrr. The three have been lucky enough to get to work together. That's the best!
