In addition to spending six years as a youth worker, Vincent Giarrusso has worked professionally across a number of art forms. With Glenn Bennie he formed the band undergroundLOVERS in 1991. Vincent is the band's principal lyrics writer. He also runs Mainstream Recordings, the independent record company from which the band licenses its music. UndergroundLOVERS has released six albums in Australia and overseas, and toured extensively throughout Australia, the UK and the USA over the past four years. The band won an Australian Record Industry Association award in 1991 for best new talent and was nominated for another ARIA in 1996. Vincent has directed four of the band's seven film clips. Vincent completed the Australian Film, Television and Radio School's director's course, and _Mallboy (2000)_ is Vincent's first feature as a writer and director. Mallboy was invited to screen as part of the Directors' Fortnight at Cannes 2000 and to close 2001's Melbourne International Film Festival.
