Raymundo Gleyzer's parents were Jews who were involved with theater, but after they separated the boy got work as a cameraman to support himself and his mother, who he stayed with.Which led to a short involvement at the La Plata film school.Gleyzer soon realized he wanted to get right out into the real world and document the situations of the peasants in his country and the failure so far of revolutionary movements like those in Mexico to help such people. His later involvement with radical political activism led to his disappearance in the 1970s with likely participation from the US Central Intelligence Agency.
