Andy was born in Drumshambol, Ireland in 1926. After taking an early retirement from managing a major Toronto shoe store, he started acting full-time. He played in Community Theatre and small roles in film and TV and was a member of ACTRA. Andy's most memorable role on stage and screen was in the production of "Da" where he played the lead role as "Da", an aging Irish father, and he later won a Best Actor Award for Community Theatre. Andy played in several motion pictures, including "Renegades" with Kiefer Sutherland, but his most cherished was his scene with Paul Newman in Mr. and Mrs. Bridge. He died December 16, 2007 in Grimsby, Ontario, Canada.
