John-Michael Laner is a certified Trainer and Coach for the Self-Talk Institute, dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to realize that "changing their Self-Talk can change their programming, and changing their programming can change their lives." He emphasizes the profound impact of our choices on everything we say and do personally and professionally. He conducts one-on-ones, webinars, groups, and seminars. As an author, speaker, and advocate, John-Michael founded An Athlete's Silence and has been featured in Time Magazine, USA Today, CBC Canada's Canada Tonight with Ginella Massa, CityNews Winnipeg with Mark Neufeld, Safe Sports International, and The National Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation Global Summit. He played a key role in the creation of the Athletes' Bill of Rights and participated as a discussion panelist for the Netflix film Athlete A. Recently, he was interviewed by George Clooney's production company for a documentary exploring a notorious university sex scandal. In addition to his advocacy, John-Michael has an impressive background in the pageant world. He served as a Producer for Miss Ohio Outstanding Teen, Co-Director for Miss Dayton, and was a former Miss Ohio dancer. He also danced for Miss New York and has judged competitions across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, and New Jersey. John-Michael is the author of four books: Surface Tension, Cracked Surface, Spandau Ballet, and Life's a Beach.
