Stanislav Nikolaevich Landgraf was born on September 15, 1939, in Leningrad, Russia, USSR (now St. Petersburg, Russia). There he made his acting debut at age 10, as a member of amateur theatre for children at Palace of Pioneers (now Anichkov Palace). In 1961 he graduated from the class of Igor Gorbachyov at the Leningrad Instiute of Theatre, Music, and Cinematography. From 1960 - 2006 Landgraf was a permanent member of the troupe at the Theatre of Komissarzhevskoi in St. Petersburg. His most memorable stage work was the role as Tsar Boris in the popular staging of the trilogy on Russian Tsars by Aleksei Tolstoy. His partners on stage and in film were Galina Korotkevich, Natalya Danilova, Tatiana Samarina, Mikhail Khrabrov, Yefim Kamenetsky, Georgiy Korolchuk, Aleksandr Galibin, Boris Sokolov, Pyotr Shelokhonov, and other notable Russian actors. Stanislav Landgraf was designated People's Artist of Russia and was awarded the State Prize of the USSR for his stage work. He also played roles in many popular Russian film and television productions. He died of natural causes on December 27, 2006, in St. Petersburg, and was laid to rest in Smolenskoe Cemetery in St. Petersburg, Russia.
