Linda was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 28, 1925 and lived on the poor side of town known as "the bottoms". Her birth name is Betty Lou Swartz. As she blossomed into a beautiful young woman it became clear she could be a talented theatrical triple-threat: she could sing, dance and act. Linda first hit Broadway as a chorus girl at the famous Copacabana; followed by a first prize on Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts which started her off as a night club singer. In addition to performing at the Copacabana, she sang at the Latin Quarter many times. This in turn led to television appearances. Finally came the summons to Hollywood where she moved up from bathing suits to bit parts with many of the stars of the day including: Gene Autry, Cornel Wilde, Errol Flynn, Robert Lowery, Robert Cummings, Hedy Lamarr, Ethel Barrymore, Lloyd Bridges, Dane Clark and Margaret Hamilton to name a few. She has appeared in more than a dozen motion pictures. Experts such as Winchell, Earl Wilson and Lee Mortimer commented many times over Linda's highly symmetrical charms. The crowning recognition came when she was chosen to pose as Hedy Lamarr's body for the posters advertising Samson and Delilah. She has appeared on the cover of many magazines and had many articles written about her. Unfortunately, she never became a big star simply because she was unwilling to sleep with the producers and directors. She tells the story of an opportunity to go out on a date with Howard Hughes. When told by Mr Hughes' assistant that Howard Hughes wanted a date with her, she responded by saying to tell him ok but that she doesn't sleep around. The assistant never called her back. As of 2018, she currently lives in Sarasota, Florida.
