“I want to get a nomination. I want to win an Oscar. I want to be known for more than, like, going out. For being "the party girl", I hate that. I bust my ass when I'm filming and when I have time off, yeah, I like to go out and dance.” Lindsay Lohan, Disney's child prodigy. She began her career as a child model in commercials until she landed her first acting job on the soap opera Another World at the age of 10. Shortly thereafter, she was cast to star and play twin sisters in the Disney adaptation called Twins Game (1998). This first feature film in her career was a commercial success and received excellent reviews, which resulted in more roles within the Disney production company. Thus came the remake of Crazy Friday (2003) and Confessions of a Typical Teenage Girl (2004), both of which had considerable success. But it was her portrayal of Cady Heron in Tina Fey's popular comedy Heavy Girls (2004) that cemented her career and for which she received rave reviews from both audiences and critics, earning her awards at the Teen Choice Awards and the MTV Movie Awards. Lohan returned to work with Disney in Herbie: Full Throttle (2005), a role that marked her transition to more adult roles. Meanwhile, Lindsay took advantage of her growing fan base to launch her music career with the album Speak (2004), which went platinum. Her growing celebrity status caused her private life to become more covered by the press, and her substance abuse, arrests, and rehab caused her stardom and professionalism to be dampened by constant personal problems.
