Sanford (Sandy) Horowitz partnered with filmmaker Paul Hunt in 1970. Together they formed Filmmakers International Releasing Company, a film production and distribution company of general release feature films. Paul, was the head of film production and Sandy oversaw the companies business and distribution. Together, they produced "Woman in the Rain," starring Barbara Luna, "Home Grown," and "The Clones." Later Max Youngstein joined forces and became head of distribution working alongside Horowitz. Youngstein brought in David Carradine with three Indie films Carradine produced, "A Country Mile," "You And Me," and "Around." Paul headed post-production and Horowitz and Youngstein did the distribution. Garry Graver, Paul's cinematographer was hired by Orson Welles to shoot "The Other Side of the Wind." Orson soon hired Paul as an associate producer while Horowitz remained in LA running the office. Later, Horowitz was set to produce Welles production of Macbeth but Orson Welles died of a heart attack in 1985. Horowitz opened the Plays Theater in Burbank in 1988 where he was the artistic director, producer, and director of several theatrical plays. Horowitz was hired as an associate producer and second unit director with Tony Curtis and Dee Wallace in the movie "Club Life" released in 1987. In 1986, Paul Hunt returned from Europe and Horowitz and Paul teamed up forming United Filmmakers International and they produced, "Twisted Nightmare," "Demon Wind," and "Merlin." Paul Hunt died in 2011. From 2017-present, Horowitz launched production company "Two Horses Laughing LLC." In 2022-present, producer of Culture the Series. In 2022-present, co-founder of Montana Film Crew.
