Biography

Tom Hugh-Jones is a creative director, executive producer, writer and director and the key creative behind many of the most successful Wildlife shows made for the major streamers and broadcasters. Tom works for Passion Pictures and before this he spent 7 years at Plimsoll Productions and 22 years at the BBC Natural History Unit. Some of the key titles he has been responsible for include: Planet Earth II, Tiny World, Hostile Planet, A Real Bug's Life, Night on Earth and Human Planet. With 30 years' experience in television, Tom has earned an industry wide reputation for his visual flair, creative instincts and versatile storytelling skills. Throughout his career, Tom's innovative approach to filmmaking has been recognized with numerous awards including Prime time Emmys and Baftas. He is credited with reinventing the Natural History genre as the show-runner on Planet Earth II which is the top-rated television series of all time on IMDB and the most watched nature show in over 25 years.
