Roger Hyams is a writer and director. After twelve years as an actor, he joined the BBC as script editor in television and film. He was then Head of Development in Drama at TalkBack productions before moving on to his own projects. Roger has written and directed several short films, including the twinned visual poems Sunday and Grand Union and the BFI-funded drama Elsewhere. All three of these have been screened at festivals. He has written the book and lyrics for two musicals, has co-directed two operas for the Vancouver Festival and been tutor/director on a long-running course for opera singers in the USA.
