Albert Ibbotson, Supervising Sound Editor / Sound Designer Originally from Philadelphia, Albert moved to Los Angeles in 1980, to pursue a music career as a drummer with his band - The Eradicators. A graduate of The University of Sound Arts, and Film Arts (later named The Los Angeles Film School), Albert began a recording engineering career, doing records for A-list acts, as an A2 for famed producer / engineer Peter Granet (The Rolling Stones, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Kansas, Wings, The Jacksons , etc.). Later satisfying his passion for film and sound, he eased into film sound as a sound editor / Foley artist at Universal Studios, The Arthur Company. He was noticed by Colleagues and hired to staff the expanding Lorimar Studios sound department, working on features like Disturbed, Sweet Talker, and The Search For Intelligent Life In The Universe, as well as TV shows like Dallas, Knots Landing, Island Son, and others. Columbia Pictures purchased the Lorimar movie lot, and Albert followed. Promoted to supervising sound editor, Albert later went on to prime-time TV series and high profile commercials, like "the" Apple commercial, and several award winning Superbowl spots for clients like Nike, and Coca Cola. Sony Pictures purchased the Columbia lot and Albert followed again. Amassing credits for shows like: Dawson's Creek, Walker Texas Ranger, Mad About You, Nash Bridges, and more. Collecting accolades like 13 MPSE Golden Reel Award nominations, 2 Primetime Emmy nominations, a Golden Globe award, for The Shield, and a Golden Lion award at Cannes, for commercial work for Nike. He has works on permanent display at New York's MoMA, in the TV exhibit. Living in Marina del Rey, Albert enjoys boating, playing music, and spending time with his seventeen year old daughter.
