Gary Johnson was born, raised and educated in Omaha, Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he signed on as an editor and columnist for the Pulitzer Prize-winning Sun Newspapers of Omaha. Heading west, he became a writer for the original "Hollywood Squares", winning an Emmy and six other nominations. Since then, he has produced "Scrabble" for NBC, "Think Twice" for PBS, "Small Talk", "Jumble", "Boggle" and "Shuffle" for The Family Channel, and he has developed and produced many other pilots and projects for various outlets. And for one memorable season, he was the on-camera Judge on Dick Clark's syndicated show, "The Challengers".
