Lawrence Kane originally trained as an artist, but later became a musician, he played the saxophone, trombone and drums. He ended his musical career as lead singer for the South London band, Point Taken. He then trained as a classical actor at The Arts Educational School in the Barbican, London, his class mates included Martin Clunes, Amanda Harris, Miles Richardson and Lisa Jacobs. After graduating he toured in a number of theater plays throughout Britain. He later studied for a BA Hons degree in Media and Cultural Studies at Middlesex University. Whilst there he started to write and direct theater plays. Upon graduation he landed a job at BBCTV in Drama Series & Serials, where he trained as an Assistant Director on EastEnders, Howard's Way, Big Deal and Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries In 1992 he adapted and directed the world stage premiere of E.M. Forsters' novel, A Room With A View, that received critical and commercial success at theaters throughout England. He later produced The Token King, a TV musical comedy drama for Channel 4, starring Samantha Morton, it was her first lead in a movie. In 1996 he relocated to Los Angeles to continue his career in film and television. He wrote and directed two award winning short films, The Disturbance At Dinner and Wonderland...it ain't. He recently worked as the production producer for MTV's Undressed, a show created by director Roland Joffe.
