Born to a famed French ballerina, Ron studied ballet and music himself, and spoke French fluently. He directed mostly comedic television specials during his career, traveling globally. He was the co-creator of such institutions as "Evening at the Improv" and "Full-Frontal Comedy". He was best known for his constant friendliness, even while trouncing opponents with his devestating lob-based tennis game (he won club championships at the famed Los Angeles Tennis Club), and unbridled sense of humor (he was regularly seen carrying a whoopee cushion or rubber chicken while working in edit bays).
