Mark Kay grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, a city famous for its wrestling heritage, largely thanks to Dan Gable. With wrestling embedded in his local culture, Mark began his journey in the sport in the 4th grade, partly to defend himself from his older brothers. His commitment led him to become a top-ranked wrestler in Iowa by his senior year of high school. Mark's athletic abilities extended beyond wrestling. In his senior year, he launched his own gymnastics team and, despite only two months of experience, achieved a 6th place finish in the state on the rings. His fascination with martial arts, sparked by a Bruce Lee movie, fueled his aspiration to one day appear in martial arts films. Mark's achievements include being a five-time Texas "Take Down" champion and a former collegiate wrestling champion in Texas. He has also trained extensively in various martial arts disciplines and has taught over 1,000 students in folk style wrestling and martial arts. Mark now calls Austin, Texas, his home.
