Melody Kaye trained at the Corona Academy. She worked onstage and in films and television from the age of 3. She was a founder member of the Whirligig Theatre Company and worked with David Wood in numerous productions including 'The Plotters of Cabbage Patch Corner', 'The Owl and the Pussycat Went to See...', 'The Ideal Gnome Expedition' , 'The Selfish Shellfish', 'The Nutcracker Sweet', 'Flipperty and the Penguin', and 'Babe the Sheep Pig'. She appeared in numerous productions at The Mermaid theatre ,and performed in numerous plays for 2years in the BBC Repertory company . She appeared with Joan Littlewoods Theatre Workshop from 1974-75. Under director/writer Ken Hill and she performed in many of his musical plays, such as 'The Count of Monte Cristo Show', 'Land of the Dinosaurs', 'Dracula', and 'Bloody Mary'. She released a Christmas record written by her brother Kaplan Kaye, and also recorded with Alma Cogan in 'Angela and the Fans'. Kaye voiced many characters in film and television.
