Brian Minato is a Vancouver based musician. He has been an active member of the music industry for 21 years. Some of the artists he has recorded with include Sarah McLachlan, Stevie Nicks, Delerium, Luke Doucet, Mae Moore, Wild Strawberries, DMC, boywonderbread, Sandy Scofield and Maren Ord. Brian has toured extensively throughout North America as well as tours of Europe, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. He has performed on The Grammys, Saturday Night Live, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, The Tonight Show, The Junos, VH-1: Storytellers, After Hours with Carson Daly, The Ellen Degeneres Show, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kelly, MuchMusic and MusiquePlus. He has written several articles for Canadian Musician Magazine focusing on his touring and recording experiences. He has been featured in Bass Player Magazine as well. Busy on the local Vancouver music scene as a composer, producer, engineer and session musician he is working with SLIP~ons, Rick Buckman Coe, Sandy Scofield, Robert Wilson, Field Study, Seiyuu Irie, Wayne Lavallee and 24 Hour Cardlock among others. In the fall of 2010 he completed the music score, mix and sound design for the horror film Hike which has been accepted into several film festivals. He has just finished the score, mix and sound design for the horror short Bruised. Bruised was awarded Best Short and Best Director at Las Vegas' 2013 PollyGrind Underground Film Festival. It was also named Best Short Film in Film Bizarro's "2013 Best Of" category. Bruised's actor, Briana Rayner, was named Best Actress in a Short at the 2014 Macabre Faire Film Festival. Writer/Director Jennifer Campbell was given the Image Award at the 2014 Women In Film and Television Spotlight Awards ceremony. Bruised has played at the following festivals: 2013 PollyGrind Underground Film Festival, 2014 Jennifer's Bodies Film Festival, 2014 Macabre Faire Film Festival 2014 Tri-Cities International Fantastic Film Festival (TCIF3), 2014 RxSM Self Medicated Film Expo, 2014 Mascara & Popcorn Film Festival, He is endorsed by Eden Amplifiers, Line 6 and Dean Markley.
