Ichirô Mizuki is a singer who has been a presence in the music industry for over thirty years. He is famous for singing theme songs to hundreds of Japanese animé and sentai shows. He first started singing for Nippon Columbia studios in 1968. He has also recorded over 1000 songs. He even performed a record-breaking 1000-song concert in 1999, which was broadcast live on Fuji Terebi. He has sung the theme songs for many shows, including Mazinkaiser (2001), Mazinger Z vs. The Great General of Darkness (1974), Super-Electromagnetic Robo Combattler V (1976), Mobile Suit Gundam (1979), "Kamen Raidâ," "Neo Getter Robo," Gatchaman (1994), "Tekkaman," and Urutoraman sutori (1984). With singers like Hironobu Kageyama, he has performed the songs for the Super Robot Wars game series, featuring many of the characters from the shows for which he has sung. More recently, he is recently a member of the band JAM Project, which was formed in 2000, and is made up of Ichirô Mizuki, Hironobu Kageyama, Rica Matsumoto, Eizo Sakamoto, and Masâki Endo. Mizuki has performed in Superhero and Robot Concerts, singing memorable themes to shows like Mazinger Z vs. The Great General of Darkness (1974). With the popularity of JAM Project increasing, so does his own work. He recently founded his own production company named YellowBird. Also, he has released an autobiography titled "Aniki Spirits." After over thirty years, Ichirô Mizuki is still going strong.
