Robert A. Nowotny is an award-winning motion picture and television producer whose projects have been honored at literally dozens of well-established film festivals worldwide including Cannes, Toronto, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Ghent, Denver, Houston, Sofia and Athens. His The Legend Of Billy The Kid, produced for the Disney Channel, was nominated for two Emmys, winning one. To date, his career includes seven independently-financed feature films - the majority having been shot in 35mm. Among these is The Radicals, selected by the International Festival of the Arts as one of the three best historical dramas produced in the United States. (The other two were Shindler's List and Gettysburg.) Behind the scenes, Mr. Nowotny has judged over 3,000 scripts over the past twenty-five years for various international screenplay competitions, including the Cable Ace Awards. In addition, Mr. Nowotny has reviewed over 150 motion pictures for various newspapers as well as for his proprietary movie review website, NeedToVent.com, and for Los Angeles-based Moviesmackdown.com. Among his published books is The Way Of All Flesh Tones: The History of Motion Picture Processes, 1895-1929, considered to be the definitive source on the subject. He graduated with double honors from the highly prestigious Honors Program of the School of Business Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. After earning his Master's Degree in Film Production and Film History from the University of Texas at Austin, he studied filmmaking under the auspices of the School of Visual Arts in New York City and at the Sundance Institute in Utah.
