Sally Norvell is a writer, director, producer, and actor. When Wim Wenders offered her a role as a peepshow bikini girl in Paris, Texas (1984), she asked if he wouldn't mind if she dressed as a nurse instead. With that, Nurse Bibs was born, the only comic relief in that masterpiece. Sally, a gifted singer, later formed the band Congo Norvell. She recorded and toured all over the USA and EU, notably with Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. After her turn in rock & roll, she returned to film as a producer, writer and director. An advocacy film for a condemned prisoner in Texas, Saving David Powell (2010), blossomed into a feature documentary, The Departure, in production. She has teamed up with producer Karen Bellone to form the production company BelleVelle Films. Front and center for the company is the feature film screenplay, Poe, a Metaphysical Love Story, a dark historical story about the life of Edgar Allan Poe, written by Ms. Norvell, story by Karen Bellone & Sally Norvell.
