Born on December 29, 1978, in Kilmacthomas, Watersford, Ireland, Gillian Norris is youngest of Desmond and Mary Norris's six children. Growing up a tomboy, her mother enrolled her in dance classes at age 10, and she slowly developed a passion for dancing. After graduating from the Higgins School of Irish Dance in Waterford (where she was taught by Phil and Mary Higgins), and winning many awards and competitions along the way, she turned professional. Her first show was Michael Flatley's 'Lord of the Dance,' which she joined in 1995. She joined up with Flatley again in 2000 when he began touring in 'Feet of Flames,' but grew tired of the constant travel and being away from her boyfriend, fellow Watersford dancer Michael White, and quit the show in early 2001. Miss Norris returned to the stage in the summer of 2001, joining the dance troupe Ragus, but her return was brief, and she left shortly thereafter. At this point, it looks as if either acting and modeling or wifehood and motherhood are in the cards for this talented young lady.
