Son of a Russian father and a Mexican mother, Sergio Olhovich Greene (1941) studied in the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography in Russia, the world's first film school, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in Film Direction and a master's degree in Fine Arts. During his career he has filmed 15 feature films, several short films, documentaries and hundreds of television episodes. Personally, he has obtained numerous awards and honors both in Mexico and abroad, including 4 Arieles (Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences), the Salvador Toscano Medal (National Cinematheque of Mexico) and the Pushkin Medal (Russian Federation). He has been a jury member at many national and international film festivals, such as the ones of Guadalajara, Moscow, Havana and Bogotá.
