Brent Owens is a Producer/Director/Writer whose experience in the Motion Picture industry dates over thirty years working in many capacities over this period. Mr. Owens' credits include Producing, Directing, and Writing seven broadcast specials that premiered on Home Box Office's award-winning series, "America Undercover." These cutting edge specials include: "Hookers at the Point," and "Hookers At the Point: Going Out Again" "Hookers at the Point: Five Years Later," "Hookers & Johns: Trick or Treat," "Pimps Up, Ho's Down, Atlantic City Hookers: It Ain't E-Z Being A Ho," and Downtown Girls: The Hookers of Honolulu"; the specials received rave reviews and exceptional ratings on HBO. Mr. Owens produced and directed "The Bronx: A Cry For Help," an award-winning documentary (First Place - Black International Cinema - Berlin 1991), which was broadcast by PBS in the United States and several International stations, including Channel 4 in London. Mr. Owens has extensive experience in production, shooting film and video in many international locations including Africa, South America and the Caribbean. He served as Executive-in-Charge of Production on the award-winning poetry series, "Voices and Visions," produced by the New York Center for Visual History. He has produced over a hundred music videos for various artists and record labels, including Steve Winwood/Warner Brothers Records, Keith Richards/Sony Records, Stanley Jordan/Blue Note Records, Shirley Horn, Kathleen Battle, and Frank Zappa/Polygram Records. On the motion picture side, Mr. Owens has served as Production Supervisor, Unit Production Manager or Line Producer on the following films: "New Jack City," "Malcolm X," "Panther," "Juice," "Do The Right Thing," "Jungle Fever," "Mo' Better Blues," and "Ile Aiye." Mr. Owens is in Production on a documentary series entitled "Ganja Earth: The Cannabis Chronicles" and a documentary entitled "Zuly No Limits" about the extraordinary artist Zuly Sanguino. He is also in development on several major motion pictures for the big screen. Over the last few years Mr. Owens has been working with a team to create a number of Humanitarian and Alternative Green energy Projects featuring Renewable Energy and Eco - Friendly Technologies that will help save our environment. He is also involved with a New Media Venture into the future with the VR/AR Technologies. (September 2019)
